Deutsch: Der zweite Hof der unteren Festung, rechts im Hintergrund liegt die mittlere. Jede der drei Festungen war so konzipiert, dass sie ohne die anderen funktionsfähig war. Gebaut wurden die Festungen zwischen 1833 und 1838 als Sperre vor dem Brennerpass. In eine militärische Auseinandersetzung waren die Festungen nie verwickelt, mit der Erfindung von Sprenggranaten waren die Festungswerke aus Natursteinmauerwerk auch veraltet, da das Mauerwerk damit durchschlagen werden konnte.
