Deutsch: Die Marienkirche wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts im Renaissancestil in einem engen Tal auf der Ostseite des Castillo de la Yedra gebaut, durch einen Felssturz nach Hochwasser stürzte sie schon 1694 wieder ein. Der im Talgrund fließende Río Cerezuelo musste überbaut werden, er fließt noch heute durch einen gemauerten Tunnel unter der Kirchenruine und der Plaza Santa María. Möglicherweise war ein Rückstau die Ursache für den Felssturz und die Zerstörung der Kirche. Sie wurde nicht wieder aufgebaut.
Durch die Nord-Süd-Ausrichtung erhält die erhaltene Südwand nur spätabends im Sommer Sonnenlicht.
