J. A. Jones Residence |

Description |
From the book- "This well-built residence, the home of Architect John A. Jones, No. 240 Jefferson Avenue, is built of pressed brick with stone trimmings. It stands on a lovely terrace thirty feet from the sidewalk, has large shade trees surrounding. The interior contains all the modern improvements and the finish is of hard wood. The mantels are of Oak and Mahogany. This is a most convenient and desirable home. Columbus is indebted to Mr. Jones for some of its best residences, such as the Ambuster residence, J.C. Sherwood's, S.P. and S.M. Elliott's, G. Colman's, F.C. Neff's, Jacob Shrader's, & Alice Peters." The home no longer stands. The property is now part of the Columbus State Community College. |
