Description
English: Built in 1879 as an Italianate-style house designed by Mason and Rice, this house was renovated in 1892 in the Queen Anne style under the direction of architect Gordon W. Lloyd. The house features a red brick exterior, a hipped roof with multiple gables featuring decorative trim panels, oxeye windows, red slate shingles, and oriel windows, double-hung windows, a cylindrical tower with a bell-shaped roof and a finial, metal cresting on the roof, bracketed cornices, stone trim carved reliefs, a front porch with decorative columns and a hipped roof, and both two-story and one-story rear ells. The house is a contributing structure in the Woodward East Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
