Summary
[edit]DescriptionIzmir Kızlarağası Hanı 5923.jpg |
English: One of several pictures (some taken during restoration works) of this, the largest han in town. It was built a few meters from the western side of the Hisar Mosque, which was built by Yakup Bey in 1598 and is the largest mosque in İzmir today. The inn, which was once built by the sea, was 200 meters away from the beach due to the filling of the sea over time. According to the date in the construction inscription, it was built by Kızlarağası Hacı Beşir Ağa, in 1744. Although there were significant collapses and collapses on the front of the inn due to a landslide in 1745, the inn was immediately repaired. The inn has survived earthquakes and fires in the following years. |
