Description
Français : fin du 8ième siècle, Ivoire, verre bleu

Provenance: église Saint-Martin de Genoelselderen (Tongres) Sur la plaque de gauche, le Christ triomphant écrase le Mal, symbolisé par les animaux démoniaques (aspic, basilic, lion et dragon).

L'autre plaque représente l'Annonciation (l'annonce de la naissance du Christ) et la Visitation (la visite de Marie à Elisabeth). De nombreux petits trous de fixation laissent supposer que les deux plaques étaient fixées, à l'origine, sur une âme de bois, peut-être un coffret ou un plat de reliure.
