Description
English: Main John the Precursor cathedral of John the Precursor monastery in Kazan, 100 m. from Kazan Kremlin. Built in stone in 1649 – 1652, by Kazan merchant Gavriil Antipin, who fully sponsored all the reconstruction works after the wooden buildings of the monastery suffered from severe fire. Rebuilt in the 19 century, fully destroyed in the Soviet period.
