Title
English: Rain Gauge
Description
English:

The rain gauge sits on a short platform near the ground.

It is important to record the timing and precise amount of precipitation that falls at the air quality station in order to calibrate the wet deposition monitoring equipment. This information makes it possible to accurately calculate the concentrations of nitrogen and sulfur compounds that are collected. It is also used to follow climate patterns and track precipitation levels. You can check out recent precipitation data from another rain gauge at the station on our live data webpage.
