Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Drağman (also: Tercüman: interpreter) Yunus Camii is a minor work by Sinan, located on a raised terrace. “Strolling through Istanbul” states “Unfortunately it was very badly restored […] and has lost any interest it may have had. It was of the rectangular type covered by a wooden roof and preceded by a wooden porch, now (hideously) rebuilt in concrete.” The guidebook continues mentioning that most of the surrounding complex has disappeared, with the exception of a domed mektep (school), that is in ruins. However, it praises the general setting on the raised terrace. There was some minor repair work being done inside.
