Description
English: The Karabaş Mustafa Korkut B. (Kurt) Tekke, a small mosque that may have functioned as a gathering place for dervishes when it still had its tekke, that was lost, stems from the XVI century. It has seen many repairs, the latest being a restoration in 1960-1962. It is close to the Tophane, hence to the Kılıç Ali Paşa as well as the Ebul Fadıl Mehmet Efendi Cami. Strolling through Istanbul mentions it, calling it “ancient and well exemplifies the simple rectangular plan with a hipped wooden roof. It was founded by the Kızlar Ağası Karabaş Mustafa who died, according to the Hadika, in 1530.” Google Maps has it as Karabaş Mustafa Ağa Camii.
