Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Iskender Pasha Mosque is in the Fatih district, it dates from 1505. The founder is thought to be one of the vezirs of Beyazit II, who served in Bosnia as governor. This attribution is not certain. The şerefe of the minaret has an elaborately stalactited corbel. The mosque is a simple structure, but nice, according to Strolling through Istanbul it is a simple, dignified building, with characteristics in common with the nearby Bali Paşa mosque. In 2015 it seemed to have been recently restored, it had lost all of its patina, but still was fine.
