War In The Church. An Injunction Obtained by the Esherites Against the Dubsites. The factional strife existing between the Esherites and the Dubsites of the Evangelical Association was mentioned in a bill for injunction in the Superior Court yesterday. The difficulty comes to the court this time from Lake View, where the usual contention between the two factions has existed for some time. The Lane Park Zion Society of the Evangelical Association has a church at the corner of Bosworth and Roscoe streets, in Lake View. The followers of Bishop Esher have been in possession of the church for over a year and here held service there despite the efforts of the Dubsites to dislodge them. The Esherites claim that at their general conference held at Elgin in April of this year, C. Augenstein was duly appointed pastor of this church. The Dubsites on the other hand assert that at their meeting of the general conference C. A. Fuessele was appointed pastor. Both sides insist that their respective general conference was the only authorized one held. In the aforementioned bill the complainants, Pastor Augenstein, and Trustee H. L. Bruns, Israel Naslund, William Knoble and Charles Hooke, representing the Esherites, ask for an order of court restraining Pastor Fuessele, Trustees Hans Halle, William Tarnow, Emil Kubitz, and John Engelhardt, appearing for the Dubsites, from interfering with their service and from knocking on the doors and windows. The injunction was granted by Judge Anthony.

Notes

Pastor Fuessele has a son of the same name that is also a reverend, and he may be the one appointed. He is Rev. Charles Albert Fuessle Jr. (1874-1903).
