English: Portrait of Princess Isabella of Parma (1741-1763), wife of Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor (1741-1790)
Italiano: "Il dipinto arriva nel Palazzo Reale di Torino nel 1930 proveniente da quello di Milano, ove era giunto da Parma nel 1865. Gli inventari di Palazzo Reale del 1911 e del 1966 identificano erroneamente il personaggio con Giuseppina di Lorena; C. Bertana/ G. Cambursano (1985) pensano invece ad una principessa di Borbone Parma. E in effetti si tratta di Isabella di Borbone (1741-1763), primogenita di Don Filippo di Borbone, andata in sposa nel 1760 a Giuseppe d'Asburgo Lorena. Si confrontino il ritratto del Kunsthistorisches Museum di Vienna (n. 2069) eseguito da Jean-Marc Nattier nel 1758 ed il dipinto di Giuseppe Boldrighi del 1757-58 che raffigura Don Filippo di Borbone con la famiglia (Parma, Galleria Nazionale, n. 1149), dove la principessa sfoggia lo stesso abito e la stessa acconciatura con piumetta e nastri di pizzo del quadro di Palazzo Reale."
