Title
Iron age mount; fragment of pointed oval mount with raised central boss
Description
English: Iron age mount; fragment of cast copper alloy harness mount of early 1st century date. The fragment is broken but seems to be half of a mount of double ‘eye’ shape. The fragment has a point at one end and a large, prominent circular boss in the middle. The shape of the sides of the mount follows the shape of the boss. The fragment is broken off across the end of the boss. The reverse of the fragment has a patch at the apex of the point where the attachment loop would have been fitted.

Length 20.5mm, width 18.0mm, thickness 7.7mm, weight 5.82g
