Title
Iron Age terret ring
Description
English: An early Iron Age copper alloy fragment of a terret ring with an iron bar (circa 800-300BC). The terret has a circular cross-section and expands towards the junction with the iron bar (diameter: 15.12mm). This expanded end has iron corrosion present around a central small projection that is possibly the remains of the iron bar. Both ends are very abraded breaks and the copper alloy has a pale green patina. Similar examples have been found in a hoard found in Llyn Cerrig Back, Anglesey (Savory 1976:57 & 84; fig.14.7 no. 44-45), Dimensions: length: 28.39mm; diameter: 15.12mm; weight: 13.46g.
