Iron Age or early Roman penannular brooch
Description
English: Iron Age brooch; wire copper alloy Penannular brooch of late Iron Age or early Roman date. The brooch is formed of a single wire, of sub-circular cross-section which has been flattened at the ends and curled round on itself to form two terminals. The pin is formed of a separate bar of copper alloy curled around the wire of the brooch. The metal has patches of powdery, pale green copper corrosion and other areas of red-brown copper corrosion.

Length 41.2mm, width 35.1mm, thickness (terminal) 7.2mm, thickness (band) 2.4mm, weight 5.78g
