Iron Age coin: silver unit of the Dobunni tribe
Description
English: An Iron Age silver unit of the Western region Dobunni tribe, unknown ruler dating to c. 60 - 25 BC. Obverse depicts moon head right, represented by nose and stalk lips, ring for eye and other rings behind, crescents and pellet rosettes in front, cross below lips. Reverse depicts horse right, large cross below with small crosses and other motifs in angles, V below tail, cruciform pattern of ring and crescents above. VA 1135, BMC 3003-11, ABC 2036.
