Title
Iron Age coin: potin, uninscribed Secondary Phase, flat Linear (Class II, "nipples") type, of the Cantiaci
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy Iron Age potin, uninscribed Secondary Phase, flat Linear (Class II, "nipples") type, of the Cantiaci, dating to the period c. 60-45 BC. Obverse: styled head facing left? around large central nipple within a plain border. Reverse: stylised bull facing left around large central nipple, within a plain border.

The potin broadly belongs to Holan's (2016) group G3. A lot of variation occurs between individual potins given that moulds were hand made and not re-used, and in this sense, although the reverse is more similar to G3/6 types, the left facing? bust probably attributes this example to the G3/5 group.
