Title
Iron Age brooch
Description
English: A fragment of a copper alloy Iron Age brooch, dating from the 400-200 century BC, La Tene I type. The fragment consists of the bow and a small part of the foot, the catchplate, pin and head are missing. There is a worn break where the head would have been, the bow has worn to a rounded point. The bow curves up and down creating a D shape, on the first curve it is D shaped in cross section, and in the second curve it widens into a circular cross section. The bow then levels out into a flat section which is rectangular in cross section, creating the foot. On the outer edge of this section there is triangular indentation where the brooch has been hit.

The brooch has a dark green patina, it measures 42.3mm in length, 19.7mm in width, and 4.9mm in maximum thickness. It weighs 5.83g.
