Description Wick on 21 August 1984 as 37262 waits to start the 1800 service to Inverness, where arrival was somewhat late. All was well as far as Rogart, where it was due to cross a northbound service, hauled by 27051 complete with a freightliner vehicle. In order to keep a 37 in the north, the locos were swapped, but brake problems with the 27 caused it to take over an hour to reach Lairg. Here the brake problem was rectified, but by then Inverness had already despatched 37017 to rescue the train, and it was duly bolted onto the front at Tain for the remainder of the journey.
