A small group of First Nations women conduct a smoking and reflections ceremony on the steps of the Victorian Parliament to mark Invasion Day. January 26 - commonly known as 'Australia Day' - is seen as a day of mourning by First Nations people. Lines of Eucalyptus leaves dipped in red paint line the steps where the ceremony is being conducted. Each leaf represents a recorded death of an Aboriginal person in colonial massacres, committed during the so-called 'Frontier Wars', in Victoria.
