Description
English: Ten thousand candles were lit to pay tribute to the language martyrs in commemoration of the International Mother Language Day in Khulna on Sunday. February 21 is a day of remembrance reserved for the young men who were killed in 1952 when police opened fire on a students’ protest demonstration at the Dhaka University Campus demanding Bangla as the state language. UNESCO declared the day as the "International Mother Language Day” in 1999. Khulna, Bangladesh.
