| Description |
English: Interior of the Willoughby Chapel (of Willoughby family, lords of the manor of Eresby in the parish of Spilsby) in the Church of St James, Spilsby, looking towards the west wall of the chapel. The large monument at the rear is to Catherine Baroness Willoughby D'Eresby (1520 - 1580). Her first husband was the Duke of Suffolk (his 4th wife) and her second husband Richard Bertie (1517 - 1582). Showing life size figures of a Hermit, Saracen King and a Wild man of the woods, each holding up an heraldic escutcheon. |
