Description
English:

Horizontal, black and white photograph showing an interior view of the Republican convention hall, known as the "Wigwam". Many rows of chairs are crowded onto the floor and several levels of balconies. A variety of banners and flags hang from the ceiling. A sign in the lower right corner identifies section "F". The Wigwam was located on the grounds of City Hall, at the corner of 12th Street and Clark Avenue.

The Republican National Convention was held on June 16-18, 1896. During the convention, William McKinley was nominated for president, and Garret A. Hobart was nominated for vice-president.
