Summary

[edit]
Description

English: Some agent (soul, spirit, an instnce of consciousness) tries to learn as much as possible about the material world. Howeery, the agents capacity to "read" in the world is somehow limited, either by its own mental capacity, by the capacity of some other agency constantly updating the worlds status or yet another reason. It then becomes expedient for that agent to focus on parts of the world that reveal as much information about the rest of the world as possible. Reading, say, a number of n states of well-chosen atoms in a human brain can reveal much more information about the world than the same number of ill-chosen states in a stone. Such a notion of a desirable efficiency may give clues as to where sconsciousness in a dualistically conceived cosmos may focus its attention. Incidentally, structures with evey more complexity seem to grow over geological times (evolutionary ladder of complexity). This in turn gives rise to the idea that the material world is thus organizied as to give willing yet limited agents in that world an ever growing leverage without actually increasing their mental ressources or causal prowesses.
