Description
Español: Mauricio Peña y Lillo Correa es ingeniero en Ejecución Mecánica y Analista de Sistemas de Información de la Universidad Técnica del Estado.

Como hijo de un oficial de Carabineros, llegó a Punta Arenas gracias al traslado de su padre. A su llegada a la región, ingresó a la Universidad Técnica del Estado para egresar como ingeniero, profesión que ejerció en su natal Viña del Mar para luego retornar a Magallanes en 1986, con una nueva carrera universitaria, casado y con su primera hija.

Su primer emprendimiento lo realizó en Punta Arenas en el área de la informática, desarrollando software para pequeñas empresas que con el tiempo creció llegando a tener 15 ingenieros prestando servicios para todo el holding de la Empresa Nacional del Petróleo, ENAP.

Ingresó a los 14 años a las Juventudes del Partido Nacional y como militante de la Unión Demócrata Independiente (UDI), siempre fue parte de la directiva en Magallanes, siendo presidente en varias ocasiones. De hecho fue representante de la provincia de Magallanes en el Consejo Regional del partido en el período 2005-2009.

El 27 de agosto de 2012 fue nombrado Intendente de la Región de Magallanes y Antártica Chilena, momento en el que se encontraba a cargo de la Dirección Regional de CORFO.

Mauricio Peña y Lillo tiene 54 años, es padre de cuatro hijos y abuelo.
