wirklicher Klang Ihre Klangfarbe ist milder und von ruhigeremCharakter, auch ist ihre Beweglichkeit in Kreuz-tonarten größer als die der Oboe. Von J. S. Bach und seinen Zeitgenossen vielfach verwendet, bediente man sich ihrer in den mei-sten Fällen als konzertierendes Instrument, wo-bei man mit Vorliebe zwei Oboen damore beschäf-tigte. Zu Beginn des zweiten Teiles seines Weih -nachtsoratoriums bringt sie Bach zu zweien inVerbindung mit Engl. Hörnern — eine entzücken-de Darstellung der friedlichen Hirtenmusik. Als Beispiel der Verwendung dieses Instru-mentes in neuerer Zeit erlaube ich mir auf meineSinfonia domestica hinzuweisen,wo die Oboe da-more als Symbol ebenso des unschuldig dahinträu-menden, wie des heiter spielenden Kindes dient.(Partiturbeispiele70 a/b.)
