it is of greatadvantage to have the two parts of different colors, so as toenable him to detect the line of separation. To color plaster for the impression, add to the dry plastera very small quantity of Venetian red, or, better, vermi-lion : this, when mixed with water, will give it a pink color.A small quantity of coloring-matter does not injure thetexture of the plaster, and renders it more pleasing to theeye. To Hasten the Hardening of Plaster for Impressions.—Thismay be done by either mixing the plaster thick, adding toit common salt, or by using hot water. The hardening canbe still further hastened by combining the three methods. When salt is introduced in the plaster, to insure a smootlisurface of the model, it should be cast immediately after theimpression has been taken. There are other methods ofaccelerating the hardening of plaster; but the above accom-plishes the end without being unpleasant to the patient. FILES FOE nUBBER-WOnS. No. 1. No. •_ No 3. No. 4. No. 5.
