pipe over toimmediately below the hot water faucetopening of the lavatory, where another teewill be placed to receive the nickel platedpipe furnished with the lavatory. From thistee you will run beneath the floor to wherethe hot water supply pipe of the bathtubwill go up, and here an elbow is placed totake the nickel plated supply pipe of thebathtub. The elbows for both the hot and coldwater are brought up just flush with thetop of the bathroom floor, so that the nickelplated supplies can be screwed direct intothe elbows. If absolutely necessary, it iseasy to screw a nipple and a coupling onthese elbows to bring them sufficiently highfor the connection. With the pipe over to the bathtub, theroughing-in of the hot water supply forthe first floor is completed. It is hardlynecessary to describe the roughing-in ofthe hot water pipe for the second floor, asthis follows almost exactlv the same course. 22 SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO., CHICAGO. INSTALLATION No. 9—With H-Inch Waste Pipe Throughout
Text Appearing After Image:
The illustration above shows a sink andlaundry tub on the same floor. The onlypipe here shown is the waste pipe, as thewaste pipe is the only pipe that presentsvariations from the installations describedon previous pages in this book. The wastepipe is li^-inch galvanized pipe, and the fix-tures have been both vented and revented.Supply pipes should be installed in prac-tically the same manner as described forinstallations previously given. To install the roughing-in of the wastepipe as shown in the illustration, first getthe height of the laundry tub trap fromthe roughing-in measurements given onpage 39, and mark this height on the wallwhere the pipe will run down and out. Thereason we take the laundry tub trap asa basis is that this is always lower thanthe sink trap. Now screw a iy2-inch drain-age tee on a piece of pipe long enough toreach from the mark you have made onthe wall down to where the pipe will runout of the house. Now drop this pipethrough the floor, and fasten it firmly
