English: Inside the Royal Baths, Harrogate. As explained at 1198170, the baths now house a superior Chinese restaurant, which explains the bottle of Chinese beer beneath the coat of arms of the historic Borough of Harrogate (granted 1884): Quarterly argent and gules, a cross counterchanged between in first and fourth quarters a fountain proper and in the second and third a bugle horn stringed or on a chief per pale of the second and azure a lion passant guardant of the first (www.heraldry-wiki.com [1]). granted on November 8, 1884. Beneath is Harrogate's motto, "Arx Celebris Fontibus" - a Citadel Famous for its Springs. |
