English: This life size statue of a Ghurkha soldier greets FCO staff as they enter the building.
The statue commemorates the Gurkha regiments of the British Army and is the work of sculptor Richard Goulden in 1929 . It’s made of plaster and painted bronze and was used as the model for the larger Ghurkha memorial unveiled by HM The Queen outside Ministry of Defence building in December 1997. |
