Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Inside St Mary's Church. St Mary's (Cille Mhuire in Gaelic) gives its name to the surrounding district of Kilmuir.

These ruins are typical of the pre-reformation style of chapel, with steeply pointed gables and rough stonework. The roof would have been thatched with heather.

Cille Mhuire church is the burial place of the most recent six chiefs of the Clan Macleod, including John, the 29th chief, who died in February 2007. 507392
