PLATB XVI.—THE SCBBW WOKSL INSECTS AFFECTING DOMESTICANIMALS The Screw Worm Comi^somyia macellaria The screw worm, so far as its injuries are concernecl,is a Southern insect. Until recently little or no damagefrom it had been reported outside of Texas, but lately ithas been injurious in Louisiana, Mississij^pi, and otherSouthern States.
