| Description |
English: Inner Harbour at Wick Between 1860 and 1890 Wick was the largest herring port in Scotland with as many as 1,000 boats using the harbour facilities (which had been extended by Thomas Telford). This view in 1974, just before North Sea oil servicing became important, still shows fishing boats moored up two or three deep.
