Antje Weithaas & Christian Tetzlaff Nederlands: Elk op zich spelen ze de sterren van de hemel. Wanneer Christian Tetzlaff en Antje Weithaas samen het podium delen, waant u zich ín de hemel. Indien u zelf ooit nog in uw jeugd menige uren zwoegend en zwetend op de viool heeft gekrast, kent u ongetwijfeld de Vioolduo's van Béla Bartók. Vierenveertig didactische oefenstukjes, geleidelijk stijgend in moeilijkheidsgraad. Het zijn echter meer dan banale etudes. Het zijn stuk voor stuk volwaardige miniaturen die de vernieuwende aspecten van Bartóks compositorische stijl markeren. De folkloristische stukjes van Bartók geven het nodige tegengewicht aan de andere duo's op het programma. Centraal staan drie violisten-componisten van de zogenaamde Franco-Belgische vioolschool. Met aan de basis Jean-Marie Leclair, stichter van de Franse vioolschool in de barok. In de romantiek legde Charles-Auguste de Bériot de fundamenten voor de Belgische tak, met het legendarische vioolspel van Eugène Ysaÿe als grote apotheose. Alle drie componisten die schoonheid én vuur uit de viool wisten te halen. Lyrisch belcanto, pyrotechnische bravoure, twee violen die samen klinken als een klein strijkorkest. Christian Tetzlaff en Antje Weithaas doen het met het grootste gemak. Français : Séparément, ils produisent des sonorités célestes, mais ensemble, ils vous envoient droit au paradis. Si par hasard, vous avez passé votre jeunesse à vous escrimer sur un violon, vous connaissez les Duos pour violon de Béla Bartók, quarante-quatre exercices de difficulté croissante. Mais ces pièces sont bien plus que de simples exercices pour musiciens débutants. Chacune d'elles est une miniature mettant en lumière les facettes innovantes du style de composition de Bartók. Les duos à teneur folklorique de Bartók font contrepoids aux autres duos figurant au programme. Celui-ci fait la part belle à trois violonistes et compositeurs de ce que l'on appelle l'école de violon franco-belge, avec à la base Jean-Marie Leclair, fondateur de l'école de violon française à l'époque baroque. Sous le romantisme, Charles-Auguste de Bériot en fonda la branche belge, arrivée à une formidable apothéose avec les interprétations légendaires d'Eugène Ysaÿe. Ces trois compositeurs savaient produire autant de beauté que de feu en jouant de leur instrument. Le bel canto lyrique, la bravoure pyrotechnique ou deux violons sonnant ensemble comme un petit ensemble à cordes : Christian Tetzlaff et Antje Weithaas vous proposent tout cela sans le moindre effort. If, in your youth, you spent many sweaty, tear-stained hours scratching away at a violin, you will no doubt be familiar with the violin duos of Béla Bartók. Forty-four didactic practice pieces, gradually ascending in difficulty. These are more than just banal studies. All are fully-fledged miniatures that highlight the innovative aspects of Bartók's compositional style. Bartók's folklore pieces supply the necessary counter-balance to the other duos on the programme. At its heart are three violinists/composers from the so-called Franco-Belgian violin school. Starting with Jean-Marie Leclair, founder of the French violin school in the Baroque period. Charles-Auguste de Bériot laid the foundations for the Belgian branch in the Romantic period, which culminated in the legendary violin playing of Eugène Ysaÿe. All three were composers who knew how to coax both beauty and fire from the violin. Lyrical bel canto, pyrotechnical bravura, two violins that combine to sound like a miniature string orchestra. Christian Tetzlaff and Antje Weithaas do it all with the greatest of ease. |
