Description making of inlays, der kegelförmige Deckel mit den aufgewachsten Gusstiften und Kronen wird von unten über ein kurzes Metallrohr gestülpt (Gießmuffe), Fließpapier polstert etwas, so dass sich die Einbettmasse später beim Erhitzen etwas ausdehnen kann. Die Muffe wird mit einer speziellen Einbettmasse ausgegossen. Einfacher Gips kann nicht dafür genommen werden, da er die hohen Temperaturen (900°C) bei den weiteren Arbeitsschritten (Gießen) nicht ohne Risse überstehen kann
