Deutsch: Epitaph für den Kaplan Andreas Mungst († 1494), dreiachsiges Relief der Verkündigung (Mitte), dem hl. Nikolaus (links) und der hl. Katharina (rechts)
Schon früh erfolgt in Ingolstadt der Übergang zum Epitaph. Es ist die meistverbreitete Form des Totengedächtnismals an diesem Ort. Das erste Epitaph für einen Geistlichen lässt sich bereits 1491 der Pfründeninhaber der Katharinenkapelle, Andreas Wungst, in der Moritzkirche setzen (Nr. 64). Es besteht aus zwei Teilen, einer Schriftplatte unten und darüber einem in drei Achsen aufgeteilten Relief in querrechteckigem Rahmen: jeweils unter Bögen findet sich in der Mitte die Verkündigung an Maria, links der Hl. Nikolaus, zu Füßen der betende Stifter, rechts die Hl. Katharina, die Patronin seiner Altarpfründe. |
