After several years of experiment andsuccessful teaching of costume design to classes ofgirls and young women Miss Lydia M. Bolmar,from the New York School of Applied Art, and nowa teacher at the National Park Seminary near Wash-ington, has devised Underlay Figures tor this pur-pose, which have just been published by The ManualArts Press. The work consists of six plates 11by Syi in. in a folder on the inside (it which areprinted and illustrated directions tor the use of theplates. Printed on bristol board, the plates arein the most convenient form for classroom use. Theywill put new quality and inspiration into many aclass in costume design. The price per set is 35cents.
