| Description | Indian Boundary Park in Chicago (1922). It was designed by Richard F. Gloede, a residential landscape architect. It was the largest of four parks on Ridge Avenue, administered by the Ridge Avenue Park District beginning in 1896. The park is named for the Treaty of 1816, establishing land boundaries for the Potawatomi Indians in the area. They were forced out in September 1833, and white settlement of the area began with Phillip Rogers in 1835. His log house stood for years in the park, until at least the 1920s. |
