n. Atthis booth there were distributed circulars giving a number ofgood rules for the care of tires. The Braender Rubber & Tire Co., of Rutherford, New Jersey,displayed several styles of Braender tires. In a circular dis- a new tiro uliich is claimed to he more resilient than theordinary tire and at the same time puncture-proof, and proofagainst skidding, blow-outs and rim cuts. The tire has a liningof leather and also a cover of leather containing five rows ofsteel studs. The tire is very strongly built and carries a 10.000-mile guarantee. The Marathon Tire & Rubber Co., of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio,showed its different styles of Marathon tires and tubes for auto-mobiles and motorcycles. These tires are made with a specialreinforced base and tread and are guaranteed by the makers togive 4,000 miles of service. This set of tires went through the 500-mile raceat Indianapolis last year without a change. A number of otherrecords were established during the past year, for which themakers claim first place for the endurance of their tires. The Thermoid Rubber Co., of Trenton, New Jersey, showed aline of Nassau tires and tubes in all sizes, of both the clincherand straight side types and with both smooth and non-skidtreads. This company also featured Thermoid brake lining, whichis constructed of asbestos interwoven with brass wire andimpregnated with an oil and waterproofing substance containingjust sufficient rubber to insure that the lining will remain immunefrom deteriorating influences.
