| Description | And the reason for the carvings, a real monkey hanging out not far away from its carved representation. These monkeys are well fed from the tourists and garbage they leave in the Mamallapuram ruin site. This one had a plastic water bottle. He clearly know how to drink it from seeing us bigger monkeys do it, tipping it upright over his head, but he unfortunately could not figure out how the trick of unscrewing the top. So no drops of water for him and he eventually got bored. We secretly hoped he would throw it at one of the nearby tourists, those who effortlessly dropped it where they stood as only India does, but he was apparently not as devilish or spiteful as we were in thought. |
