Summary
[edit]DescriptionIndia - Rural - 02 - water source (2563743107).jpg |
A typical village water scene. In most villages, drinking water is not available to each home, but only to the street, requiring families (the woman) to fetch water every day. In many places, each street might only have water for a couple hours each day, necessitating line ups and running your life around getting water. Open waste water and sewers often run along the same paths and if the drinking water pipes and taps are not maintained (often the case in villages with few resources and/or awareness), then contaminated water can enter even if the source water is clean (not a sure thing itself!). |
