Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Hall of Private Audience: famous for its central pillar with thirty-six vaulted brackets supporting a circular platform. It is believed that Akbar’s throne occupied the circular space over the capital and the corners were assigned to the four ministers.

Fatehpur Sikri

The name of the place came after Mughal Emperor Babar defeated Ranga Sanga in a battle at place called Sikri (40 km from Agra). Mughal Emperor Akbar built this majestic fort between 1571 and 1585 as his head quarters. But due to shortage of water he had to ultimately move his HQ to Agra Fort. Today this ghost city has a population of about 30,000.
