View large Original Message ----- From : Alan Stanton, Tottenham Hale ward councillor To : Homes for Haringey Please see the two photos I've posted on Flickr. They show a contractor's vans on 31 October 2008 - parked on the pavement and almost blocking the alleyway between Circular Road and Stoneleigh Road N17. They seemed to be removing some sort of waste from the gardens at the rear of Reed Road. The company was Woodlands PH Ltd and I assume they were sub-contractors for the Decent Homes works. I appreciate that contractors need to park somewhere and we need to be flexible and helpful. Though of course, that approach is not one we take with residents who are having their own building works done. In fact, if residents' builders parked their vans on the pavement at this spot, they would probably get a ticket - if not clamped or towed. It is particularly unfortunate given that this alleyway is very well-used including by people who use wheelchairs. As you can see from the photos, it would have been very difficult for them to have got through when the vans were parked. Could you please try to get contractors to agree and keep to some basic protocols about safe systems of working. |
