Description
English: Incomplete lead steelyard weight of Roman date (AD 43 – AD 410). Length 48mm, maximum diameter 53mm. Weight 430g.

The weight is bi-conical in form. Two stubs of a missing iron suspension loop are visible in the face of the upper apex where there is also an area of iron staining. There is no evidence for a hook or loop at the lower apex. The surfaces are rough and corroded and part of the surface around the lower apex has exfoliated.
