Incomplete double oval buckle
Description
English: An incomplete double oval buckle of probable mid 16th to mid 17th century AD date. The left hand side of the frame (as you look at it) survives, along with a remnant of the right hand side. The surviving side is roughly D-shaped and has edges which slope downwards and outwards and are decorated with moulded wavy lines. There is a central axis bar, which is of hemispherical section and terminates at the top and bottom in a projecting lug. The object measures 28.7mm wide by 23.6mm high and 3.8mm thick. It weighs 4.9g.
