Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Left: Vertical lines with k1<0.5 require pupil illumination points within the blue leaf-shaped locations, referred to as dipoles. Center: Horizontal lines at the same pitch require the same set of points under 90 degree rotation (red regions in central circle). Therefore, to accommodate both horizontal and vertical lines, only the purple overlap regions are allowed. Right: However, the purple regions can degrade the 45-degree oriented line bends or jogs.[1]
