English: Navy Rear Adm. Craig Faller, commander, Carrier Strike Group 3 and incoming director of operations for U.S. Central Command, toured the Detention Facility in Parwan June 5, 2012, to gain a better understanding of the strategic level mission conducted at the DFIP. CENTCOM promotes cooperation among nations, supports development and, when necessary, reconstruction in order to establish the conditions for regional security, stability and prosperity within its area of operations. The tour was guided by Air Force Brig. Gen. Dash Jamieson, deputy commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435, and Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. CJIATF 435 oversees all detainee operations in Afghanistan. In this photo, Faller greets an Afghan National Army soldier, who partners with U.S. service members, as he tours a detainee housing unit. |
