English: The incoming and outgoing Australian assistant commanders in Afghanistan toured the Detention Facility in Parwan, Aug. 1, 2012, as a site survey for the incoming commander as well as to gain a better understanding of the strategic-level mission performed at the DFIP. Australian Brig. Simone Wilkie, outgoing assistant commander Afghanistan, International Security Assistance Force Afghanistan and Australian Brig. Peter Short, incoming assistant commander Afghanistan, ISAF were guided on the tour by Air Force Brig. Gen. Dash Jamieson, deputy commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435, and Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. CJIATF 435 oversees all detention operations in Afghanistan. Task Force Protector personnel oversee the secure, humane care, custody and control of the detainees within the facility.
