English: Inclined strata Purple-brown and greenish-mottled shales fill an erosional feature in the lower bed of Carboniferous Limestone in Trevor Rocks Quarry, which also displays the moderate, north-easterly dip of the formation in this area. The shale is another palaeokarst feature and is due to a fossil soil occupying a contemporary solution hollow. |
